About Us

We are a family owned and operated business located in Hurricane, UT.  We care for our children with kindness and patience while teaching pre-academic and social skills in playful and engaging ways.

Caregivers

Our caregivers are CPR and First Aid certified and receive at least 20 hours of childcare training each year. We are moms, sisters, daughters and grandmothers who understand how hard it is to place your child/children into the care of another person.  Combined we have over 45 years experience teaching and raising children. We understand the comfort and peace of mind it brings when you can trust your caregiver when you’re busy working to support your family. Come and stop by for a visit.  We look forward to meeting you and your family!

Malia Colby

My name is Malia Colby. I have lived in Hurricane for most of my life. I have six children and eleven grandchildren! Over the 30 years that I have been a mother, my own children were placed in daycare settings from time to time, sometimes at as young as fourteen days old. I know from personal experience how important trusting your child’s caregivers can be. As an educator, I have a lifelong love of learning and understanding of what little learners need at every stage of development. I find so much joy in helping facilitate their learning and watching their growth!

I graduated from SUU in 2004 with a dual major B.A. degree in Special Education and Elementary Education. I have taught in special education from preschool to 7th grade. I have spent most of my teaching career working in the Washington County School District and have enjoyed my time teaching children reading and writing very much. Though I have loved working with my friends and colleagues at local schools, I have recently decided to retire early to be more available to help with my grandchildren. I speak three languages (English, Spanish and ASL.) and hope to be able to continue to use them when I can. I am excited to care for your children while working with my daughters and friends at our in-home childcare!

Karly Tolman

I was born and raised in South Jordan Utah. I came down to southern Utah to attend Dixie State College and never left. I take pleasure in the many outdoor activities that are offered here. I take advantage of the hiking trails, paddle boarding, and the national parks. I also enjoy traveling. I have two children that consider the small town of Hurricane home. I worked at a troubled youth program, and Hurricane Intermediate school with students in the severe special ed program. I think it’s important to provide children with an enriched environment where they can grow and learn.

Alora Colby

Hey! My name is Alora Colby. I am a mother of one, and have had many years of childcare experience, through babysitting and helping around at home. I enjoy learning from and teaching children. I am a Hurricane High School graduate and have lived in Hurricane for just over 13 years. Some of my hobbies include reading and writing stories, drawing/creating arts and crafts, and being outdoors. I’m excited to meet you and your families!

Becky Adams

My name is Becky Adams. I have lived in Hurricane for almost 27 years and been married for the same amount of time to an amazing man, Ray Adams. The day I said yes to him, I also said yes to being a stepmom to two girls; who still to this day, amaze me! Together Ray and I had two more incredible boys. I always wanted to be a wife and mom. I am so blessed to have been able to be both. My two daughters have made it possible for me to be called Nana to 8 grandkids.  I absolutely love being Nana to all of them.  28 years ago, I started working at a daycare. I worked with all ages and found such a love for all of their own personalities. After 10 years of working there, I had the opportunity to stay home with my kids. It was such a blessing and also really hard to be a stay at home mom. When my kids got older I would take on different Jobs, which I loved because of all the different skills I learned and the people I have gotten to know (and for the forever friendships I have with them.)  I love coming to Malia’s house and being around children again. It is my hope that as I work here that I can help each individual child to learn to love and respect themselves.  I believe when we choose to do so, we can love and respect others as well.

Taleona Moss

My name is Taleona Moss. I am nineteen years old and have lived in Hurricane, Utah, for my whole life. I attend Utah Tech University, where I graduated with my associates. I am continuing my studies to get my bachelors and become a paramedic. I have four younger siblings, so I have years of experience with babysitting kids of all different ages.  I love being around kids and watching kids learn and grow in different areas of their lives.
