About Us
We are a family owned and operated business located in Hurricane, UT. We care for our children with kindness and patience while teaching pre-academic and social skills in playful and engaging ways.
Caregivers
Our caregivers are CPR and First Aid certified and receive at least 20 hours of childcare training each year. We are moms, sisters, daughters and grandmothers who understand how hard it is to place your child/children into the care of another person. Combined we have over 45 years experience teaching and raising children. We understand the comfort and peace of mind it brings when you can trust your caregiver when you’re busy working to support your family. Come and stop by for a visit. We look forward to meeting you and your family!
Malia Colby
My name is Malia Colby. I have lived in Hurricane for most of my life. I have six children and ten grandchildren with number eleven on the way very soon! Over the 30 years that I have been a mother, my own children were placed in daycare settings from time to time, sometimes at as young as fourteen days old. I know from personal experience how important trusting your child’s care can be. As an educator, I have a lifelong love of learning and understanding of what little learners need at every stage of development. I find so much joy in helping facilitate their learning and watching their growth!
I graduated from SUU in 2004 with a dual major B.A. degree in Special Education and Elementary Education. I have taught in special education from preschool to 7th grade. I have spent most of my teaching career working in the Washington County School District and have enjoyed my time teaching children reading and writing very much. Though I have loved working with my friends and colleagues at local schools, I have recently decided to retire early to be more available to help with my grandchildren. I speak three languages (English, Spanish and ASL.) and hope to be able to continue to use them when I can. I am excited to care for your children while working with my daughters in our in-home daycare!
Alora Colby
My name is Alora Colby. I am a Hurricane High School graduate and have lived in Hurricane for just over 10 years. I enjoy reading and writing stories, drawing/creating arts and crafts, and dancing. I have three younger brothers and lots of babysitting experience. I love teaching and spending time with kids, and have my very own on her way this December.
Eva Terrill
Eva was born in Southern California then moved to Southern Utah at the age of 11. She has loved the area so much that she and her loving husband have decided to raise their 6 beautiful children here. She has a background in mental health, DBT skills and Therapeutic support. As well as, CNA, CPR and First Aid.
Her passions in life are helping others to find their “whys,” reminding others of their greatness and showing them of their individual power.
Some of the greatest opportunities in her life are teaching her children the importance of boundaries, how to communicate their needs and to always know love! It’s important to Eva that children feel safe and cared for even when they are away from their loved ones
